Obama lays out motivations for illegitimate Iraqi war in 2002

An impressively strong speech by Obama back in 2002, opposing the war in Iraq before it started.  This speech gives us an insight into what he felt were the motivations behind it and his ideas for alternative battle.  A surprisingly frank and unpolitically correct message.  Notice the use of repetition, a frequent tool of his and one that can be effective in driving home one's arguments.

An alternative voice in America

Government bailouts, the rich getting richer, power to the people.  If these words ring true to you, you should listen to this video of Michael Moore's speech to the people of Wisconsin, who have been battling the government there for the right to retain their collective bargaining rights.  It would appear that the uprising is not only in the middle-east.  If you click on the Huffington Post link, you'll get the written text, too.

The honeymoon may appear to be over, with poor nomination choices and criticism for our new president. But this speech is a gem and well worth watching. The joy and hope in people's eyes make us sense how these people felt under Bush and the relief they feel that it is, indeed, a new day.
